Friends
The Friends of the Pittston Memorial Library group was formed to help our Library both
financially and by performing volunteer services at the Library. The Friends support programs and
services that bring the library to life. They raise money and their voices to ensure a first-class public
library for the Greater Pittston Area. The Friends raise money through many events and all funds
raised are used to sponsor the Library.
We invite you to become a Friend! The regular monthly meeting is held on the fourth Wednesday of
the month at the Library. Ask at the Circulation Desk for the date and time of the next meeting.
We hope to see you there!
YEARLY EVENTS
Night at the Races, is held in conjunction with the Pittston Kiwanis Club. This event is usually held in late March or early April.
There is also the famous annual Fall Festival held the first weekend in October.
The Friends are also known for their wonderful seasonal basket raffles held at the Library and
tickets are sold at the front desk
- New this year is a wine tasting on October 30, 2010
